The program includes 4 weeks’ cycle to introduce the dancer to linear and circular movement, tango, and its specifics. Classes cover such aspects as balance, axes, and dissociation exercises. We learn to dance in tango embrace and communicate through it.
Classes are balanced between techniques of body movement and emotional connection through the dance. Open conversations on psychology of tango and its input in our life. Techniques bring higher awareness of your body, focusing on nonverbal communication with the partner to create very smooth movement together. Establishing clear understanding of the leader and follower role in the dance to become one. Musicality classes to allow you to feel the entire depth of the beautiful Argentinian Tango music and to find you own way to interpret it on the dance floor.
Everyone who wants to improve their skills as a follower and learn more about the follower’s role in tango is welcome. Please bring your questions and we will discover the answers together. Throughout this series we will not only be growing in our technical skills, extending our sensitivity, and practicing nonverbal conversation with our partner, but also having fun learning our responsibilities as a follower.
Everyone, who comes in gets personal attention, feedback and partners to dance with. We help each dancer to work on their specific “weak” points. We rotate to get different prospectives and to improve as a social dancer.
The concept of the Practica:
guided practica with recommended subject to work on. There will be no cortinas, no cabaseo. I encourage everyone to use this time and opportunity to work on weak parts of your dancing. Ask someone in the room if they would like to work on something together. Dance with the partner and ask for the feedback, give the feedback in a nice manner, switch partners and dance with dancers at different level. I will be there to give the feedback, answer the questions, and to help establish the path of practice for certain topics. Come ask me at any time, dance with me and let’s get better together.
I welcome you to join us to make this Practica a friendly, cozy socializing place, fun to work on your tango. Open for new comers and enjoyable for all good tango friends. Please feel free to stop your dance at any moment and discuss the feeling, the move or technique with your partner, switch dancing partners, share your experience and/or questions. Or talk about tango while you have a drink, some wine and beer will be provided. See you Tuesday and let’s see how it goes! Make me feel like my living room is too small for this 😉 and we will move to bigger space.
